Shannon Corrigan, MD

Reflex Physician

Dr. Corrigan was born and raised here in Bellevue, Washington.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Whitman College in Walla Walla and his medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle.   He has been board-certified in Emergency Medicine since 1996 following the completion of his residency training at The University of California Los Angeles. His passion for education led to consistent involvement in medical resident teaching, including time as a clinical faculty member at UCLA, and more recently supervising residents in the University of Washington Emergency Medicine program.

Dr. Corrigan has been one of the surfing pioneers on the Washington coast since the late 1970s and has surfed in many far-flung places across the globe.  He has extensive experience acting as the on-site physician at very remote surf camps in Indonesia.  He practiced emergency medicine in Hawaii for 6 years and has spent many seasons big wave surfing on the North Shore of Oahu.  He is also a big mixed martial arts fan and has studied and competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  He remains an avid skier and snowboarder and loves spending time with his wife and 9-year-old daughter.
