Anthony Wong, MD, was born in Hong Kong, China and his family moved to Arizona before he was a year old. He currently works at Reflex Knee Specialists with offices in Portland, Oregon; Bellevue, Washington; and Tempe, Arizona.
He grew up in Tempe, Arizona, and attended high school at Brophy College Preparatory. Dr. Wong completed his undergraduate studies at the Arizona State University in Tempe and medical school at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
Dr. Wong went to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for residency in both emergency medicine and internal medicine and met his wife, Kelly, who was a nurse at the same hospital. After residency, he convinced her to move to Arizona to be back with his family.
During residency, Dr. Wong completed a mini fellowship in sports medicine and learned about hyaluronic acid injections and PRP, a cutting-edge technology used by many professional athletes. He always envisioned using that knowledge sometime in the future, and it must have been fate that he is now a provider at Reflex.
Dr. Wong is board-certified in emergency medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has served as a clinical assistant professor in emergency medicine for the University of Arizona Phoenix campus, as well as the department chair at Banner Ironwood and Banner Goldfield hospitals. He has also served on the board of directors and executive board as treasurer of the Arizona College of Emergency Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Wong likes to be active and enjoys swimming, golfing, biking, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and chasing after his three young boys. He also loves traveling, dining, cooking, and watching movies.
Given his active lifestyle, Dr. Wong enjoys helping others maintain their active lifestyle and is excited to help patients in Arizona lead more active and fulfilling lives by providing cutting-edge knee treatments. Dr. Wong’s favorite mantra is, “Work hard, play harder!”
